mattress

i am in the process of redoing my children/teens rooms. How do ikeas' mattresses compare with the higher end sealy brand? Does an ikea bed frame require an ikea mattress?

Re: mattress

The bed frames sold here in the US are sized for US mattresses, so any will fit. That wasn't always the case ... in the past, they sold metric sized ones here.

Ikea mattresses seem to be a hit and miss. Some folks like me have been perfectly fine with them ... others not so much. Different people, different opinions on what's comfortable and what's not.

That said, IMHO, a Sealy is only higher in the price tag.

I say take your kids along and let them do some of the comparison shopping too. It's not exciting, but it's a chance for them to get a feel of whether something softer or firmer is right for them.

Re: mattress

Me and my wife bought two matresses (80x200cm) from IKEA last year and we weren't happy with them because the slid apart from each other. So we took a telephone to the local store and they brought us a new mattress (160x200cm) and refunded the differance to our bank account. So that was really good service. They got a really good guarantee for the mattresses, at least in Scandinavia!
